I have been running into some great info on AE. Instead of creating a new topic each time I'll add to this thread. Lots of Tuts on this roundup. There is even a blip about Comic Sans and a link to a website to Save Comic Sans. http://provideocoalition.com/index.php/ ... _effects1/Pimp Your AE article about changing the preferences. One setting that is handy if you have a lot of masks to use the Cycle Mask Colors. It is also comforting to learn that pros do not know the Memory & Multiprocessing settings. http://prolost.com/blog/2011/11/20/pimp ... fects.html

I know you're just trying to make me feel bad with these AE reminders , since I started full force into learning AE .. then got sidetracked and have been spending my time in Prem Pro & Photoshop (which I sooooo love playing with!). But great stuff .. and I'm adding it to my basket of goodies for when I get back to AE .. hopefully soon. Thanks, Cheryl!

Jayell as long as you keep posting tips & inspiration for PS then I won't badger you about AE! You will have a fairly easy time learning AE with all of your experience. Here is a video that is very good explaining the unwanted boomerang effect in AE. Just change the spatial keyframes to linear from bezier. I've used hold keyframes in the past, but this is an easy fix too. http://greyscalegorilla.com/blog/2009/0 ... keyframes/

Free AE projects & downloads. I may try out the Cross Hair preset. The Spirograph looks interesting too. http://chriszwar.com/wordpress/after-ef ... downloads/

It amazing how much stuff is out there (besides Muvipix) to help us along the way!! I've been playing with a spirograph set-up for Photoshop. Nothing as sophisticated as the AE stuff, but fun!

Thank you for the post. One of the articles has given me an idea for a project I am currently working on. And I was stressing myself because I couldn't figure out what to do.

Jayell, hope you post a PS spirograph example. The AE spirograph is based on 3D offset. Haven't looked at that tut yet, but I have used the offset before. After you hook up sliders to control all the layers at once it is fairly easy to create some nice arrangements. Steve G, I know that feeling of no creative ideas. I am working on a project now, or trying to work on it since not much editing time lately and was at a loss for ideas. Usually I see a video or a tut that sparks an idea. Then off to research how to do it!

Dan Stevers is an AE artist and some of his vids have been posted on the forum. He is now making AE tuts. I watched one today and he walks through the basics step by step and explains things in depth which is good for someone new to AE. Even if you aren't a new user, very good tips: http://www.danstevers.com/tutorials/Here is one of my favorite videos, which was posted on Muvipix a few years ago: http://vimeo.com/5720017

Awesome. What a great program! Maybe someday I'll have the time, money and motivation. In the meantime I'll continue to enjoy your work Cheryl.

Three very good explanation tuts on behaviors in AE, the Naked Truth series. The first 2 are on Adjustment layers & Collapse Transformations, beginner level. The third covers Orientation and Rotation, intermediate level. After watching the third one I know or should say sorta know the difference between the two and the hierarchy order. The tut explains Euler Rotation & Quaternions (where is RoadsideRon when you need him?) and at the end explains the Gimbal Lock problem with 3D camera moves. http://ae.tutsplus.com/series/naked-truth-about/
