Myself, I think I would need at least 5 seconds so I could tell the back story and still show off some CGI effects too.

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Beth,
It WOULD be sad if you didn't make an entry !!! Your entries are absolutely amazing....I sure hope you find the time to make an entry !!!
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Sigh. My wife tells me quite often that I really need to read the instructions before I jump into things. Being a guy, of course, I know better. However, in my haste to get started on a contest entry, it appears I might have missed the part about entries being 640x480 and went to work on a 720x480 project.
2 questions: 1) Instead of starting over, can I assume that a 720x480 project 'letterboxed' to a 640x480 wmv file would be OK? 2) Do I have to tell my wife? Embarassed in Fort Collins, Dick
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009
Dear Anonymous, 1. Using the standard NTSC project is correct, you will end up with a 640 x 480 WMV on export when it is all finished. 2. No, that is why I posted the response to Anonymous 1. Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009
Ron - how much would it cost me to have this post deleted? Nah, actually it's OK. Tomorrow's our Anniversary and I'm still 3 stupid things short of my 50 stupid things per year limit. I could screw up twice more today and still be in good shape.
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Beth it would be sad if you are not able to have an entry. Could I submit something in your name so I could increase my chances of winning....????
kind of like when the Kidz Bob kids sing hit songs and sell them on their own CD Kidz Bob 12. It could be the start of a K-Tell type of movie. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller

Happy Editing,

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009-Am I right in concluding that one can only submit ONE entry per category?
-Does one have to specify which category for each entry? Or they get 'guided' into a category? -Who do I have to bribe to make sure I win (excepting People's Choice) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4790 (3.6GHz) 8MB Cache.

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Hi Tony,
Good questions, sometimes I forget that not everyone has been around as long as I have and not everyone knows the prior years rules. 1. You can enter as many videos as you want to in as many categories as you want to. 2. Yes, you must decide which category your video belongs in. If you use tools other than Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements that is an easy decision. 3. Sorry, can't help you there 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009OK Chuck, you make this very hard for me.
I have been in many awards contests, including the NY Film and TV Awards and I ALWAYS had to bribe someone to win. This is very unorthodox. As you understand, it is not who you know, it is who you bl**. Anyway, regarding the category selection, if one was particularly happy with a project, I guess one could enter it into ALL categories, thereby not being excluded from one particular category because the epic wasn't entered into that category in the first place? So, best to enter the epic into ALL prize categories, including 'Best in Show', or is that an automatic? (I think I am just trying to give you a bad day) I think I will now get back to my day job.... Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Ok, I guess it still isn't clear
You can enter as many videos as you would like to enter. You must pick the category and follow the rules of that category. You cannot enter a single video in more than one category however Hope that helps make it a little more clear. 1.
