User discussion concerning all that's Photoshop Elements (all versions).
by john a » Sun Jun 17, 2018 4:26 pm
Hi Guys After a Windows Upgrade a couple of days ago Photoshop now gives me the message:
The saved information is an incompatible version. It has been set to default values.
Then
Error opening your printer. Printing function will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any document.
All other programs are printing properly and "Select Printer" in Adobe Help got me nowhere
What don't I know?

From the Adobe forum Hi ThosRDyer,
Please follow the below steps :
Quit and relaunch Photoshop Open a file to be printed Go to File menu > hover your mouse over Print> Press and hold the spacebar key
This would reset the Print Preferences for Photoshop and should open the print settings dialog box.
Regards,
Chetna

HI Guys
I thought about reinstalling but can only find an Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 Disk labeled EFIGS I must have upgraded on line but hell I don't remember. I did the space bar trick several time holding it longer each time. But with no results and the same Error Messages.
So what do ya think guys.
On a side note, every time Windows does an upgrade it changes my screen saver back to default. I'm sure I'm the only person in the world that this happen to. As Frank Zappa would put it "An Exquisite Inconvenience"
Thanks John A

You can download Photoshop Elements 14 from here. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-eleme ... loads.htmlJust use your current serial number to activate it. If you don't have the serial number written down, you can get it by logging into Adobe.com and selecting Manage Account. On the page that opens, select the Plans & Products tab. Then, on the next page, select View Your Products. The page that opens will display the serial numbers for all of your registered Adobe products.

"There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer & reopened any document"That is one of the issues caused by the recent Windows update. Use the registry fix here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-eleme ... ments.html
