the Nik collectionAnyone have the Nik collection? I picked this up recently and have been watching YT videos on their channel. Any favorite filters? Work flow tips? Sharpening tips? Recipes?

Similar to some of the filters in Topaz Labs collection 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: the Nik collectionIt can be used with Lightroom, Aperture, PS, or PSE. And I think as a standalone. In PS or PSE, you can run the filter and it is applied. There is an option to have the filter as a brush. A new layer is created with a mask. In the Nik filters there are control points that you can select areas very easily and minus areas easily. The filter can be applied as a Smart Filter which allows re-editing. I like it as a layer and then in PS reduce the opacity if the effect is overdone.
The one thing that impresses me is the selection area is based on tone to quickly select an area. A lot faster than creating masks in PS. aka Cheryl

Re: the Nik collection
At least it isn't the subscription plan. I've been watching more tuts and playing with the filters. I love the ease of the adjustments and the best feature is painting the filter in on a mask. Here is a photo of the grand daughter and the boys. Oscar is timid around the grand daughter and really didn't want to pose. The dogs both need haircuts. The kids by Cheryl3001, on Flickr aka Cheryl

Yeah, hard to say no when she flashes that smile. Dogs too. Thanks Bob & Dave. I need to reshoot this pose after the dogs get groomed. Poor Snickers can barely see. aka Cheryl

Re: the Nik collectionMom that was a nice picture. I really like the way the color of the chair sets the mood. The only thing missing.... "This week at Target all spring dresses for kids on sale" at the bottom.
