I have been wondering how one does live green screening as in newscasts, etc, rather than post production editing? Can that be done with Essentials 10, or is it another type of software?

Doing Live Green Screening?Hi, I haven't been here for awhile as I have been side-tracked with other activities.

Re: Doing Live Green Screening? If you are talking about streaming live video then you would not use editing software for that purpose.
There would be other software and hardware requirements for accomplishing that. Let us know more about what are you trying to accomplish and we can help better ![]() 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Doing Live Green Screening? The Serious Magic looks expensive and very sophisticated for my humble thoughts. I guess I'm thinking of Skype and other webcam type scenarios where I can have myself located in fun settings, or with some funky background happening. Or just sitting at my desk and using my webcam to make an instant green screen emailable video. Are there cheaper ways to accomplish these effects?
Re: Doing Live Green Screening?Serious Magic is only $125. I don't know how you'll be able to beat that price!
For what it's worth, iMacs come with this kind of webcam software already installed. When you use Facetime on it (a Skype-like program) you can make it look like you're in the middle of the jungle, the desert or whatever. But it's just for fun. Nothing as serious as a convincing live green screen. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Doing Live Green Screening?I just saw a website for XSplit. ( xsplit.com ) It seems to be a community type software that might work, but I'm not sure.

Re: Doing Live Green Screening?
I checked this program out, and they said it doesn't work with Skype in a live green screen situation. I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seem that it would be a difficult interface for a basic chroma-key fun tool. Maybe it should be an app one day for Skype?
Re: Doing Live Green Screening?Be sure to post back here if you find a way of doing this with Skype.
