Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffOne more question, Chuck. I only see the link for ordering the Adobe Master collection on the chuckengels.com site. How do I order from Adobe so that muvipix still gets credit? Do I click through to the master collection link and then navigate to the product I want or do I do something else?
Very shortly, I will be upgrading to the CS4 versions of my Adobe software and I'd like muvipix to get credit through the affiliate program. I normally buy my Adobe software direct from Adobe so I have the option of a direct download and would prefer to continue to do so.
Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffAnytime you use the link to Adobe it keeps track of any purchase you make.
So just use the Master Collection link to go to the Adobe Store. I will try to get a more generic link up there later this week. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffThanks, Chuck. I'll do that.
Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffI find newegg has the best deals, is reliable and has fairly good customer service.
Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer Stuff
Well there's one about 20 minutes from me and I live on the back end of the world, as far as the chain stores are concerned. They bought up the abandoned Circuit City store (almost brand new at the time) and started up in a niche that was not being covered. Namely: I bought a custom computer from them early this year and got a great package for a price not available from Dell or other stores. If something goes wrong or I want something new added I just take the box up there and plunk it on their tech desk. They've replaced a bad power supply under warranty with no problem and installed a new BD recorder at no cost. I'm happy. I can find cheaper prices on some things elsewhere and they don't stock much of things like discs, but I always look there first. Desktop w/ Intel Core i3 550 @ 3.20 ghz

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffI've had good results building barebones systems with http://www.adamant.com/. I also shop NewEgg and Amazon, B&H Photo and Video and Buy.com.
My laptops have been IBM, Lenovo and I'm happy with them. Bad results with Abe's of Maine, which is really in New Jersey. Their site via Amazon says their return policy is Amazon's return policy. Abe's links to their return policy takes you to Amazon's return policy. BUT they don't have Amazon's return policy. Refused to give me an RMA # when I still had over a week left. Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffI don't shop much there, but if I were you, I would clip these return policies and complain to Amazon. You may find that they may be able to help. I dealt with Abe's of Maine once back in the 1980's for some camera gear. They were sleazzy then. Sad to see they have not changed. Sorry for your difficulty, but I would try and get assistance from Amazon and your credit card company.

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffLocally, if I need something quickly, cables etc., I go to Best Buy. I purchased a BareBones computer from Portatech.com. I find them about as reasonable as you'll find. I added some stuff tomy computer and have had the system a year with very little problem; only Windows issues.

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffI've been buying more and more computer stuff from Amazon, including my computer. Really fast delivery. Some software apps you can even download from Amazon.

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffAny place where I can get parts, eBay, Amazon, NewEgg, and my last computer from Portatech.com. They put together an excellent machine that came to me clean with none of the extra stuff that's usually stuck on there for trial, etc. I've had it approximately a tad over a year with no trouble except Win 7, but it was no burger biggie. I'm as happy as if I had good sense.

Re: Where Do You Shop For Computer StuffI used to buy from newegg but switched to tigerdirect recently because I found the help at newegg wasn't what it used to be.
