Re: The new Lytro Camera......I wonder how big the files will be if it records all that data??
Re: The new Lytro Camera......From the press release: “Lytro’s breakthrough technology will make conventional digital cameras obsolete,”
I don't think so. This new feature is for those that can't focus on the subject. How many of today's cameras have that problem? And they are spending $50 MILLION on this new feature? Come on here. Marc Andreessen has never started or operated a profitable business, with one exception: Netscape turned an annual profit, back in 1996 when it posted a $19 million profit. (Netscape wasn't free then)
Re: The new Lytro Camera......yes but how cool would it be to add the picture to your video with different areas in focus. Would make for a really cool effect. That way you can tweak the photo. Sounds cool to me. And you could really make many photos from one.

Re: The new Lytro Camera......Intriguing. Looks like focus will soon be an irrelevance.
I have also seen a "CS6 preview" video from Adobe where focus correction is carried out in Photoshop. Still nothing like the Lytro technology though.
