Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVThis is pretty cool, and small too
I just love my Goflex Drives. http://app.en25.com/e/es.aspx?s=261&e=1 ... e5c32391bd 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVWhat a world! TVs now have USB input to play video from external hard drives, and now the external hard drives have HDMI out for the TVs!
Question Chuck: How do you navigate the GoFlex? On the TV screen? What input device? Bobby (Bob Seidel)
Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVI don't have one with the interface, just the standard Goflex drives.
But I am considering getting one to see how it will work with my projector 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVChuck, the reviews of this particular media player (on the Seagate site) are a mixed bag. Do you recommend the Seagate player, over something like the Patriot Box Office, to work with HD files (e.g. M2T) created by PRE7? (I plan to connect an external HDD to the media player through USB.)
I'm asking because I'm in the market for a media player and your opinion would be very helpful. This Seagate player looks like exactly what I need, a media player that handles HD formats and also streams Netflix. While on the subject, I have more HD devices than I have HDMI ports on my TV. Can you recommend a HDMI switch/multiplexer/something for that situation? Thanks! Desktop: HPE-580T, i7-950 (3.07GHz), 16GB RAM, Win'7 64-bit Home Premium, PSE12/PRE12, Lightroom 5.
Laptop: MacBook Pro (retina), 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5. Cameras (in use): Panasonic GH4/Canon HFR400/Canon HV30, GoPro HD Hero2.
Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVI can't recommend a player because I don't use one. I do have Seagate Freeagent Goflex external drives and love them. They are small with a large capacity and very reasonably priced. I have five of the small Seagate drives. Have not gotten one with the HDMI connection yet but will probably try that the next time I need a drive.
I have not heard of any good HDMI switches or multi-port devices. I have only one on my projector and keep switching between the computer and blu ray player. Most of the reviews I've seen for the HDMI expansion units are not very good. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TVI bought a relatively inexpensive 5:1 HDMI switch from Newegg. Not a name brand unit.
But it seems to work fine. Had it for quite a while now, and the only problem was because of bad code in a Time Warner set top and not the fault of the switch. TW has since fixed the problem. Bobby (Bob Seidel)
Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TV
Do you view your HD movies using Blu-Ray or do you just connect your camcorder to the HDTV using the HDMI port? Bobby, thanks for the idea about a cheap switch from Newegg, I'll look into that. And BTW, we are loving the iPad! It has changed the way we use computers at my house. Desktop: HPE-580T, i7-950 (3.07GHz), 16GB RAM, Win'7 64-bit Home Premium, PSE12/PRE12, Lightroom 5.

Re: Seagate Freeagent Goflex TV
Hi Ron, I usually use the Blu Ray player for actual blu ray discs but the computer for viewing the HDV files and other stuff. Also have the satellite connected to the projector as well but need that switch that Bobby is talking about. 1.
