Great theme, sounds like fun!
One clarification please. Some of the members have Premiere Elements, but do not have Photoshop Elements -- they use Photoshop instead. Does that exclude them from contest 2?

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009I know that there isn't a huge difference between the two, but the contest is an Elements contest.
So to answer your question Bob, Photoshop Professional is not allowed only the Elements version is accepted. Now, that being said, you don't have to use Photoshop Elements at all, you can just use Premiere Elements. Also, you can just use Photoshop Elements and not use Premiere Elements at all too. 1. Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Thanks Chuck,
That's what I was anticipating. I do have a Windows XP system image with Photoshop Elements 3 that I could boot from and use if necessary. I don't anticipate needing it though. My biggest needs are inspiration and time.
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009I am trying to calculate how much sleep I can lose to spend on editing... I am so excited!

Currently the owner of an embarrassingly slow system, hoping that will change!
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Good luck to all! Can't wait to see the entries!
Did have a question, what type of stories? Comedy, drama, an event, history, travel? Thanks! aka Cheryl

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Any type, just needs to tell a story. The better you do at telling a story, the better chance you have at a prize

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009So as long as it tells a story...got it, thanks. Wasn't sure if it could be silly & lame or it had to heartfelt & poignant. Overthinking again

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Can we use any music we want? If I used a U2 song would I be in violation of a copyright thing or anything? I never did one of these before....

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009This is what we have said in the past and will apply again this year.
"You may use copyrighted material at your own risk. If we (Muvipix.com) are asked to remove an entry due to copyrighted material we will remove the entry and that entry will be disqualified" So yes you can, but at your own risk of being disqualified. If the video has to be removed then no one can vote on it and it will already be past the deadline so you won't be able to change it. The decision is totally up to you. 1. Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009I'm so sad but I don't think I will have time to enter again this year.
We'll have to see what April and May brings and see if I can find time last minute. But I can't wait to see what everyone else does. My best source of inspiration is these contests. Good luck to all. Happy Editing,
Beth
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009how short can it be? i saw it said no more than 3 mins, but just out of curiosity how short? not sure which idea to use yet, but just wanted to know all the parameters also can you enter more than one submission?
Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009As short as it takes you to tell a story, there is no minimum limit only a maximum limit.
As Steve said earlier, advertisers can tell a pretty good story in 30 or 60 seconds sometimes 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: 5th Annual Video Contest - Muvipix 2009Are you thinking of the 1 second commercial like Miller High Life?
