A place to introduce and tell a little about yourself.

Hi, my name is Kenny and I'm a videoholic... But seriously, my wife's an avid family activities photographer and I'm an unaccomplished family activities videographer. We found ourselves with boxes of photos and tapes that were just too much trouble to sort through and enjoy the fruits of our labor so we began exploring other ways to preserve and enjoy our photos/videos. We started out making still photo slideshows with ProShow Gold. We moved on to using Photoshop Elements 5 to improve\alter the photos and when the PsEl6/PrEl4 became available we upgraded and started working with our videos. This has turned into a very enjoyable hobby for both of us. She's the creative one and I'm the techie, i.e. she has the good ideas for a presentation, I get to learn how to put it on disk. Anyway, been hangin' out here in the shadows for a while, listening and learning from the pros and thought it was time to come out into the open and say hi, and THANK YOU for sharing so much info. Maybe someday I'll learn enough to return the favor. Kenny

I think it has something to do with admitting I am powerless over Video Editing and need help Muvipix to the rescue again!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, and yes, I'm not having much luck at curtailing my time spent capturing/editing/viewing our stuff. I'll have to return to work Monday a.m. after a long holiday break and me thinks me is in for a long, long day away from the 'puter and PrEl. It's been 3 hours and 47 minutes since my last editing session...

I feel your pain, Kenny. I have been off for 3 wonderful weeks and I have to hit it early Monday morning... No more sleeping in and having my coffee and muvipix.. It's Houston traffic and coffee now.. Not as much fun Donna
Go out and make it a great day. The choice is yours! Donna

Welcome Kenny!
You can learn a lot lurking in the shadows, but you'll learn even more coming out into the light and asking questions and helping others figure out answers to their questions. Glad to have you in the group.

Welcome Kenny, from a rural southeastern KY neighbor. Bob is right on target. I ask lots of questions... (thank goodness there are no quotas on questions) However, quit often I don't have to ask questions because I find my answer reading the posts other people make.

Wow! Three weeks? That must be nice. I wanna work where you do. I usually only get one week off but took two this year 'cause my stepdaughter wed on Jan. 1 and we needed the rest of this week to recuperate from the activities. You be careful in that Houston traffic tommorrow. Traffic's not a problem for me, I can reach work in 2-3 minutes. Sometimes that's good, sometimes not.

Hi neighbor and thanks for the welcome. Oh, I'll be asking my share of questions. I've already had a ton of them but they've been so elementary that a search of the appropriate forum has found the answers for me. We're headed up to Louisville next weekend. Guess I'd better swap the orange cap for the blue, eh?
