I have to say I am not really a fan of vertical video by any stretch of the imagination but in looking for something to challenge myself I thought I would try to make a vertical video. It was a bit harder than I expected but I did learn a couple of things along the way. Comments appreciated.

Sorry, Sidd. It just doesn't do it for me. You make some great videos, but I can't make this transition work. I was watching a video the other day by a woman who always has a good eye for content and whose editing skills are excellent. However, she included some vertical video that was taken by another person, and I just kept thinking that she should have sat down with her friend and explained to her how to hold the phone for this project. Friends don't let friends do vertical video . So what couple of things did you learn?
Love the music Sidd, where did you find that? Also, is this a challenge to create and post?
I think vertical video can work well in panels. If you spilt the video into three vertical panels you could have people or objects move between the panels in interesting ways. This music video is kind of an example of that, as Neil Finn moves from room to room and eventually out of the house. It's not done in panels though, but could have been.
I agree to all of the above. I can only really see portrait mode for pictures. For me it was a moment to try something I would normally not and most likely not do again. The whole thing felt very unnatural and I realize how much I like to include horizontal movement in my videos. Anyway thanks for bearing through it.

I viewed this on my desktop monitor. I didn't find it difficult to watch - I think the fact that you had vertical elements along the edges of the frame sometimes (like the pillars and bushes), made my brain just think the "missing" parts of the view were simply obscured. Not sure if that makes sense.
The line-up of lily pads worked really well in the vertical view.
Thank you I kept trying to look for things that had depth that would take advantage the verticals so I tried to include trees pillars an buildings that accentuated that perspective. I appreciate you checking it out.

That reminds me that we haven’t had a meeting in some time, John. Control Freaks Anonymous is supposed to meet more frequently. I’m going to have to take action to force our group into a gathering .
