Thank you for posting that critique. It made me think about how uneducated I am. So much to think about when making a movie or otherwise. Re: Editing a sceneI feel the same way when I learn "the language of film" as I do when I'm learning or talking about "the language of food" on my food tours.
There are many ways to experience anything. You can just enjoy it passively and let its work its magic over you. Or you can learn how the magic was created and appreciate how even the finest detail added to the experience. One is not better than the other.
