Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoHi Dave,
Question for you...my husband and I have both tried this and keep getting a message that states: the system cannot find the pathway specified. I know you said it could be 'touchy' but we've tried making any corrections and feel we've followed things to the T but to no avail. Any suggestions of what we may be doing wrong?
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoOk Dave, just tried again (can't give up-lol) and this time it says: syntax of the command is incorrect. This is definitely user error but...grrr...not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoCan you post a screen capture of the command window showing the command line that you're typing in? If not, just type the text in so I can take a look at it?

Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoAbsolutely, Dave!! Here's what I'm typing in:
copy /b C:\Users\Brian Opsahl\Videos\GRWM featuring Natasha Denona Safari palette 003.mts+C:\Users\Brian Opsahl\Videos\GRWM featuring Natasha Denona Safari palette 004.mts C:\Users\Brian Opsahl\Videos\complete.mts Surely this is operator error but...just cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong...ugh!!!
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoI'm pretty sure the problem is the spaces in the file names and in your username. Rename the files without spaces and try it again. If that doesn't work then the username also has to be without the space. I'm not sure what to do about that because my username is only a single word without spaces. That could be a problem. In a command line spaces in the right place, or no spaces, are critical. That's the syntax problem.

Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoThanks so much Dave! Will try that right away and let you know!!
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoSadly that didn't work and we also don't know how to change the user name. Thanks so much for all your help! It is so very appreciated!!!
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoSo let’s get back to basics. Did you try Steve’s Handbrake suggestion? Unless you can’t work around the few missing frames problem that’s a better solution anyway.

Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoIf there are embedded spaces, enclose each separate path/filename in quotes.
For example: copy /b "c:\users\a b\file 1.mts"+"c:\users\a b\file 2.mts" "c:\users\a b\videos\complete.mts" [ Post made via Mobile Device ]
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoExcellent! Thanks Bob!

PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoBren, if the space in the username isn’t an issue, as in Bob’s example, then renaming the files should have worked. Could you post your revised command line?

Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoHello Guys, well...I've just gotten my computer back as we had Windows 10 installed today. Unfortunately, there's still no audio importing with my videos when after importing them into PRE. What now?
Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoConvert your source video to 1920x1080 MP4s with constant frame rate and uncompressed audio using the great, free download Handbrake.
Try it with one video and see what results you get. Though I'm actually kind of surprised that you don't get audio from your videos on windows 10. But converting is a last resort. See if it works. It's not a permanent solution. You don't want to have to convert every file you want to edit. But it's worth exploring. At least until we can figure out what's up with your Windows 10/Premiere Elements installation. As I said earlier, another solution is to use an earlier version of Premiere Elements. It may be worth installation the free trial of version 15 to see if that resolves your problem. Re: PRE 2019 no audio after importing videoHi again, sorry this is a late reply! Life got very chaotic for a minute!
Ok, so the audio IS working now. When first imported the audio isn't there but soon after it catches up. A little strange but I'm just glad it's there, even if a bit late to the game. One thing I noticed after editing and saving the first video is that the quality isn't as good after editing. The video seems less clear and sometimes slightly pixelated- very slightly but noticeable quality decline. Is this an upload issue on my part? Thanks again!! Bren~
