It's been so long I've forgotten how to put the computer back to an earlier time; will figure that out I'm sure. Just wanted to keep all updated on this irritant.
Sorry to hear this Buddy. The way that Windows 10 updates work there's no good solution that I'm aware of. There are ways to disable Windows updates, but it's an all-or-nothing solution, which isn't a good solution because then you lose out on important security updates and others. Doing a system restore can return you to a time prior to the updates, or you can just uninstall the latest updates manually, but eventually the system will install them again. I don't see anything about a video card in your specs. Are you using integrated graphics? It's possible (probable) that installing a video card, and its associated drivers, would solve this issue. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

Unfortunately, at the moment Windows Defender won't let me turn it off, and something it says is blocking the Restore. This update also Messed up my print drivers..WOW, my kingdom for a Mac..huh. When I turn defender off and Restore it chugs for a while and nothing. And when I look Defender has turned itself on, apparently before I can restore the system..sheesh!

Don't use device manager. Go to the video card manufacturer's site to download the version you are looking for and then install it.

Thanks Peru, will do. When I look it Device Mgr it tells, and shows a video driver. When I go in other places I'm told nothing is there.

So do you have integrated graphics, or a video card? If you're using integrated graphics an inexpensive video card would be one way to resolve this.

Unfortunately with my ASUS Mb I have integrated graphics and audio, but have already replaced the audio with a Creative card. I probably should do that with the video as well.

Since a separate video card would use its own drivers, you'd no longer be depending on the Windows driver that's causing your issue. I'd think that would solve the problem. I suppose you could try an inexpensive card, and if it doesn't do what you need you could return it. Just a thought.

If I did any better Chuck I'd Rapture The AMD is distorted, wider graphics, etc., so I just Rolled back the system until I can get a graphics card that will fit in my Mb. No biggie; just have to find a card that will fit, and I shall. Have a blessed and Merry Christmas.

Hey Buddy, remember this that I posted back on Nov. 28th? Interesting. I just had a client call last night with the exact same issue - right after an update. I also suspect that Windows installed an inappropriate driver, but I haven’t seen the machine yet. Will let you know if I find out anything.
Well tonight I got a call from him. He said that all of a sudden today his display went back to normal. I asked him to check to see if there had been any Windows updates within the past day or so. He checked, and said that yes, there had been just today. I'm thinking that perhaps Microsoft has issued an update that fixed this issue. Before you run out and buy a video card I'd see what the next update brings.

Dave thank you so much for the info; very kind of you. Will check, did a Restore a couple of days ago, but the Start menu wants me to upgrade. I will give it another shot and if it corrects itself then I'll get no card. What I really want to do anyway is upgrade my computer. Thanks again.
