Positioning text

Positioning textIs there a way to position text precisely using a numbering system like there is for positioning video or pictures that you add to the timeline? I can move them fine just by dragging them around, but that little neurotic, OCD part of me really likes the numbering system to get them in exactly the same place relative to the edges when I change the text...

Re: Positioning textSort of.
In the Title Adjustments workspace you can set your title to dead center by using the Center Horizontal and Center Vertical buttons. Do that and then close the Title Adjustments workspace. Then, select the title on your timeline and open the Effects Adjustments panel and open the Motion Properties. You can use the numbers for Position to now set your title's position very accurately. Re: Positioning textThanks Steve. I see how that works. So it would be good for being very precise with the same title. But as soon as you change the length of what you have written, it changes its position relative to the edge because it is positioning the center of the text, not the edges. Oh well, that neurotic, OCD part of me is overactive anyway...

Re: Positioning textUse a temporary grid file. You can make one in the titler or Photoshop Elements.

Re: Positioning text
Create a grid with transparency and put it on the video layer below your text. Use it to align your text. Then delete it.
