Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoThat was great!
I've got to try that.
Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoIt was the Camera Tracker in AE. Guess I should move to the AE section? Not sure how to do move to new forum area.
This could be done in PrEl or PrPro IF the camera is on a tripod. aka Cheryl

Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoI was thinking about doing it in Premiere Pro and use screen captures. I'd bring the screen captures into Photoshop and mask out the background. What do you think?
Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoMom that was a really cool effect. I have been seeing that effect in a few videos lately. It looks a lot "easier" than I thought it would be. cool stuff.

Re: Fun with the Kids - Video
Yes! The camera would have to be on a tripod. No zooming. The grass did have a problem with masking in PS. I left a feathered clump of grass around the kids' feet. The Camera Tracker in AE is only if the camera is moving. With Progressive HD video you get square pixels so much easier to match up than the old days with SD video. aka Cheryl

Re: Fun with the Kids - Video
I was surprised too how relatively easy to use the Camera Tracker in AE. Of course it would be more dynamic if the camera moved like the tutorial. I did try a few clips moving slowly backwards but the video was very unsteady. The kids kept getting too close to me walking fast. I had my 50mm on a crop sensor camera that day. Maybe a wide-angle would have worked better to keep distance from the camera to the kids. aka Cheryl

Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoAGAIN with the great stuff!!! You must be the coolest Grandma in town!!
At first it looked incomprehensible - but after seeing the tutorial (I don't have AE, but I still caught the basics) I can see how it could be handled in PRE, i think. Thanks for the link to the explanation. I am definitely going to have to give this a try! Again - AWESOME!!!! Can't wait for the next version, starring the doggies!
Re: Fun with the Kids - VideoThanks everyone! This is a fun effect. Ok, the challenge is on! Post your versions! This can be done in PrEl or PrPro if the camera doesn't move.
