"The Fastest Video Editing Software for Enthusiasts"

some success after I slept on it. I had done a test file with the original MP4 files and it had burned successfully to a disc (i had forgotten about that in my panic) so after I slept on it, I went back to see what the difference was between the MP4 files and either the AVC or the MP2 iput files. The only difference was that my default viewer was not Media Player on those types of files. Changed the default view, deinstalled the K-lite Codec, and only tried to burn a small file but with the menu. Worked fine.
So now my question is this - before I try to burn the whole file again, i don't want to get that audio cut error i originally got. you said not K-lite...which codec should i download then. Can you provide a link?

You should have the latest version of Quicktime. Beyond that, don't install any other codecs. Anything else could bug things up.
Glad you're finding success at least, Alison!

Successfully burned five discs of my 2.5 hour movie! Hooray! Thanks for all your help....not real happy with the 2 channel stereo audio, did something weird with my voice overs on the voice track, tried difference settings on my sound bar, but still sounded as if I were in a tunnel...
one last question - what's your feeling about disc labels - hurt or ok to use?
Thanks again for all your help, amazing to me that although both the AVC and MP2 input files were created using Cyberlink, the software during the burn didn't recognize them based on the viewer. Ah well, a tip for sure! And sure wish the programmers at Cyberlink coded the format validation on the front end of the burn process, rather than waiting till 97% done after 2 hours. crikey
Let me know about the disc labels, please. trust your judgement!

I always recommend against using disc labels. They can throw your disc off-balance and the glue can damage your disc. At least that's the common wisdom.
At Muvipix we usually recommend that you instead buy printable discs and a printer capable of printing on them. They're surprisingly affordable, and the results usually look pretty good!
Or do what I do. Just write the name of the on the disc with a Sharpie. If your disc cover has a nice enough design, no one much cares what the disc itself looks like.
My thoughts anyway.

Or the label comes off in the player and makes a mess of things.
