Sony Video Files - .m2tsI hope this hasn't been talked about yet, at least I didn't see it via search. Anyway, when I import video from a Sony Handycam into Pre V12 I get zip for metadata. Is there a way to include the metadata on import?

Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsWhere are you looking for the metadata, Doc, and what metadata are you looking for?
If you used Premiere Elements' Add Media tool (the Video Importer) to download the video from your camcorder to your computer, the Elements Organizer should your video specs as well as the date and time it was shot. Premiere Elements, however, doesn't include the time and date data that I know of though. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsThanks Steve for getting back to me so quick.
All I get in Pre V12 for .m2ts files is: Filename Date Created Date Modified Date shot is very important to me as I'm trying to organize video over the years from m2ts files. If I look at .m2ts video files in Sony's PlayMemories software I get everything you would expect to see for video metadata: General ID : 0 (0x0) Complete name : E:\Media\2013-09-22\20130922155318.m2ts Format : BDAV Format/Info : Blu-ray Video File size : 44.0 MiB Duration : 35s 13ms Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 10.5 Mbps Maximum Overall bit rate : 18.0 Mbps Video ID : 4113 (0x1011) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.0 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 2 frames Format settings, GOP : M=2, N=15 Codec ID : 27 Duration : 34s 968ms Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 9 656 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mbps Width : 1 440 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 29.970 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Interlaced Scan order : Top Field First Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.207 Stream size : 40.2 MiB (92%) Audio ID : 4352 (0x1100) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : AC-3 Format/Info : Audio Coding 3 Mode extension : CM (complete main) Codec ID : 129 Duration : 35s 40ms Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 448 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Bit depth : 16 bits Compression mode : Lossy Delay relative to video : -67ms Stream size : 1.87 MiB (4%) Text ID : 4608 (0x1200) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : PGS Codec ID : 144 Duration : 34s 469ms Delay relative to video : -67ms Any thoughts? Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsDate and time shot should be visible in the Elements Organizer in version 12. But you're not going to find the details you're looking for (like timecode) in Premiere Elements.

Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsSteve, do you know if date created in Pre v12 equate to date shot. If not, I don't see where you see that in organizer.

Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsActually, you're right. The Organizer does not currently list time and date the video was shot. It only lists the date it was added to your computer.
I think if you need more detailed metadata, you may need to look into another possibly professional program. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Sony Video Files - .m2tsThanks Steve for confirming what I was seeing is just the way it is.
