Why Elements?

Why Elements?I'm not, for instance, an Adobe Premier user although I would like to be. This may be a dumb question. If you have Premier why would you need Elements? I've vaguely looked at the interfaces and they appear quite similar (and maybe I haven't looked closely enough). From what I read you can edit movies in both, so..Premier being the Adobe Patriarch what's the difference between the two? Thanks.

Re: Why Elements? The Elements programs are designed primarily for hobbyists and non-pros. They're somewhat simplified and lack a few of the more professional tools. (Photoshop Elements, for instance, does not include tools for working in CMYK color.)
But, if you've got the Pro versions and you're comfortable with them, there's no reason at all to have the Elements versions also. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Why Elements?I used to use Pre El 3.0.2, but since switching to P Pro CS5.5 I don't even have Pre El installed any longer.
P Pro requires much more robust hardware, however. If you are considering P Pro and don't want to "rent" it (Creative Cloud), buy it while it is still available.

+1 for that suggestion. AMD Ryzen 3900x 12C/24T, ASUS x570 mobo, Arctic Liquid Freezer ll 280, Win11 64 bit, 64GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 graphics, Samsung 500GB NVMe 980 PRO (C:), Samsung 970 Evo SSD (D:), Dell U2717D Monitor, Synology DS412+ 8TB NAS, Adobe CS6.
Re: Why Elements?Sometimes a plug-in comes along where the Elements version is a lot less expensive than the Pro version. That's why I started using Premiere Elements 1.0 when it came out. There was a stabilizer that cost $99 for the Elements version versus $499 for the Premiere Pro version.

Re: Why Elements?
P Pro CS6 includes the Warp Stabilizer.
Re: Why Elements?I don't know if I could go back to Elements because I like the way the audio & video tracks are separated in the timeline (like older versions of Elements), the nested sequences, the velocity graph in the motion properties for scale, and no ripple delete default when you are moving stuff around the timeline. There are a few others, but those are the main ones for me.
