Credits Doubling

Postby Johnny » Thu Jan 10, 2013 2:26 pm

I created the credits for my movie in PRE 10, but first they go racing by and then they come back up at the slower pace that I had set them.

Can anyone help me out with this problem?

Thank you.

Can you post an example on YouTube or Vimeo with a link on this forum so we can see what you're talking about? it's a little hard to envision this?

It might also help if you posted a screen capture of your timeline to this forum so we can see how your title is placed.

Check to see if you have another title on a higher numbered track. It sure looks like you have two titles on the timeline -- one adjusted, one not.

I was thinking the same thing Bob, just delete the one that is moving faster, it is probably just a very short clip so zoom in on the timeline ;)

I checked that. It appears to be just one clip.

Had you made several tries at this? Is it possible that you created two different scrolling text boxes in the same title slide? Or perhaps you were doing some copy/pasting and ended up with two by accident?

I've just tried to attach a screen capture here, as Steve had suggested I try.
I have checked the credits several times; I don't understand why only one clip is visible, even when I zoom in, considering what is appearing when I let it run.

Let's confirm that the problem is with that title. Right click on the title in the timeline. There will be an "enable" entry in the popup menu with a check mark next to it. Click on the entry to remove the check mark. That should cause the title to not be shown in the monitor. Play the entire section where the title is and see if anything shows up. If the problem is with that title, the monitor should be black for the entire duration of the title.

Bob,
I removed the check mark from the "enable" entry. Then when I played the section, first the credits went flying by again, as before, but then for the rest of it the credits (that I had set to last for 2.5 minutes originally) did not appear at all; the monitor was black for the rest of the duration of the title.

Your title on video track 1 is not the problem. You have a second title. Your timeline is only showing video track 1. There is a scroll bar on the right hand side of the timeline (I've highlighted it in yellow in the image below). Move it up as indicated by the red arrow and the other video tracks will come into view. You should be able to see the extraneous title and remove it from the timeline. Once you've removed the extraneous title, right click on the title in video track 1 and select "enable" again to turn the check mark back on. You should be good to go after that.

Delete the title and start over, play the end after you delete the title to ensure that there is no other title playing.
Then create a new title, I recommend copy and paste the old title text to wordpad first so you can copy and paste the text into the new title ;)

Bob,
Thanks again for your response. I scrolled up and zoomed in to see if there was something on one of the other video tracks, and there it was. I have no idea what I did for it to get there; I've never used a video track besides Video 1 before, but at least it's resolved now.
I really appreciate the help!
