exporting project

What's the best way to export a pre 10 project to a file that I can use in another pre 10 project. With pre 3, I just did a file>export to an avi file. With pre 10, the file>export is always grayed out and appears to be unavailable. Thanks in advance for your help.

The later versions have disabled File > Export and do everything through the Share tab. So for what you're wanting to do you'd use Share > Computer > AVI and choose the appropriate preset.

He said he was exporting to an AVI.

Assuming he's working with standard def 4:3 video then, he should use:

Share/Computer/AVI with the DV preset.

I'm using standard def. On my Share menu, I don't have computer > AVI as an option. Looks like share > computer > MPEG with the NTSC DVD standard preset is the closest. Will that work OK?

It's a scrollable list. Use the scroll bar on the right for other options.
