Missing poster frame in menu buttons

I am using Premiere Elements 10 on a Windows 7 system. I have downloaded a menu template into my project and have marked 8 scenes on my timeline. 7 of the scenes show up in the menu normally however one of them is there and works normally but does not have a still frame on the button like the other 7 buttons. When I attempt to edit the button, I see it does not have a poster frame where the the others do. How can I add a poster frame so this button appears similar to the others? Thank you for any suggestions you can offer.

What template are you using and where did it come from?

It was offered as a download within the program when I selected "Disk Menus". It's a generic Christmas menu. It shows up as "blinking lights .rar" .

I've loaded it on one of my version 10 projects, Ed, and I'm just not seeing what you describe.

Steve, did you add a second page of buttons (Scenes 5 - 8)?
Maybe it only happens if there is more than one scene menu.

There may be a gap between clips on the timeline where the menu marker is located.

It is also possible to mess up things by moving menu markers:

You can set what is displayed for the thumbnail by double-clicking on the menu marker and then changing the relative start time (00:00:00:00). This can be a source of DVD authoring failures later down the road if the relative time points to a time that is beyond the end of the last clip on the timeline.

It's important to add menu markers only after everything else has been completed. If you trim clips and move menu markers around, you can see how that would mess up the thumbnail pointers.

Ed, if you can post a screen capture of what you're seeing, I'm sure we can figure out what's going on.

If you're not seeing a thumbnail or frame for your 8th scene, it could be that you only have 7 scene markers on your timeline, or that the 8th menu marker is set to be a main menu or stop marker. Do you have 8 GREEN markers on your timeline?

Again, if you can post a screen cap, that would be most helpful. Some things are easier to show than to describe.
