instant movie

Postby hpharley90 » Sat Nov 10, 2012 6:08 pm

I'm trying the Instant movie feature using a project on the time line.
I'm getting my instructions from the help file.
I did this.
timeline.jpg

And then this.
timeline expl.jpg

When I pick my theme the NEXT button doesn't become active.
Nothing happens after I pick a theme.
What am I doing wrong?

Do you have anything on the timeline or have you selected clips for the movie yet?

As Chuck says (and as we show you in our book) there's a difference between adding a movie theme and creating an InstantMovie.

With an InstantMovie, you first gather all of your video and then click the InstantMovie button. To apply a theme, you select video that's already on your timeline and then select a theme.

But you do need to have your media selected before you select a theme and start creating your InstantMovie.

Now I understand. Theme being the key word. :)

Will applying a theme to timeline project be edited by Premiere Elements as instant movie does?

I did instant movie to my selected video in the project panel. I didn't like some of it so I want to try a somewhat edited version on the time line.
I thought I could do it as an instant movie but if I understand correctly I can only add a theme.
Thanks
Richard

Problem solved.
I saw I was doing my work on video track 2.
I moved it down to video 1 and everything is fine. :-D
Thanks
Richard

Now that is something that I would not have even been able to guess about.
Glad you found the answer Richard :TU:
