I have archived a project using the Project Archiver from the File menu (Copy option). The archiver created a folder titled "Copied_My Proj Title" which contains many folders containing .mts and .m2t files but no .prel project file! I cannot find help as to how I go about re-archiving the project to its original state. Tried Prel Help file, Steve's Guide book and a Forum search. It's probably something very simple .... but I can't see it!! Can anyone help please? Thanks Borgie

Hi Borgie, I haven't used the Archive feature in awhile so I did a couple of tests. I tried both types of archiving, Archive and Copy. After each the folders were named Trimmed_My Project (if I did the Archive) or the Copied_My Project (if I did the copy). In both cases there was a .prel file located in the main folder as above. Have you tried searching for the .prel file in Windows Explorer? I know that somethings something can be right in front of me and I can't see it.

I got the same results, Chuck.
Make sure, Borgie, that you're exploring the folder with Windows Explorer, by the way. If you use the Add Media/From Files view from the program, for instance, your view will only display media files -- so your project file could be there but you can't see it.

Sorry guys. You're right. I had just completed archiving 8 projects (5 hours duration total and 6 months' work) on an external drive, then went and deleted the originals, assuming that reversing the process was a piece of cake. I deleted the originals. And when I tried to restore one two weeks later and couldn't see it, I panicked!! I looked in every folder except the right one. My apologies. Borgie

Just wondering - you do have a backup copy, right?
