Where are all of the DVD Templates ???

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 10.

Where are all of the DVD Templates ???

Postby coolstuffiniowa » Mon Sep 17, 2012 5:23 am

I find it hard to believe that we have to buy another program just to get some DVD Disc Menu's that were available on PE Elements Version 4.
All I want is to be able to use my own picture for a background.
How hard is that?
Obviously very.
Do they really only give you ONE disc menu?

I was forced into creating a photoshop account because they told me that I would be able to download more disc menus once I had registered.
I have done this and the menus that I have received are just as lame and useless as the free one that is on the non member version.

I am very frustrated obviously and I guess if I have to purchase yet another program I will....
but getting rid of something as basic as a standard menu from PE4 is really bad business.

If I am doing something wrong - please let me know.

If it is possible to upload the menus from PE4 that is on my computer - please let me know how to do that.

Thanks

I'm not sure what's going on, CoolStuff, but there are nearly 100 DVD disc menu templates included with Premiere Elements (assuming you've installed the Additional Content.) And swapping in your own custom background image can be done right in Premiere Elements very easily.

You can also add the menu templates from version 4 into version 10 -- but it may not be necessary, since what you apparently want to do you can do right in version 10. Or am I missing something?

hmmm...well - I have downloaded some of the content - the problem is that when I download these menus the computer keeps crashing.
so it is very frustrating.
I have a total of nine menus to choose from - none are cool and none let you click on the back image and change it.
Everytime I try, it just places my picture inside some "cute"little image they have devised.
Please let me know how to import my PE4 menus!
That would be great - cause this is exactly what I want.

One thing that would be very helpful, CoolStuff, would be if you'd add your technical specs as your signature, as I've done, so that we can see what kind of hardware and software set-up you've got. Makes it much easier for use to diagnose problems.

Beyond that, your version 4 DVD menu templates should work in version 10 -- though I'm very concerned that that's all you have access to. There are dozens of version 10 templates. They look much better than those designed for version 4, and their structure is a little different -- so I can't guarantee they'll work.

But if you want to copy the DVD Templates folder from PROGRAM FILES/ADOBE/ADOBE PREMIERE ELEMENTS 4 to PROGRAM FILES/ADOBE/ADOBE PREMIERE ELEMENTS 10, you can give it a try. (Assuming you're on XP.)

Though if downloading Additional Content is crashing your computer, there may be something else going on with your system.

And if you need help adding your system specs as your signature you can watch this tutorial :)

I know why I am having trouble with internet explorer crashing - I never update anything.
I do not have this computer hooked up to the internet ever.
As a result I am sure that PE 10 is trying to find some new updates that I simply dont have and I wont be getting.
PLEASE tell me how to UNDO these menus.
Now I can't seem to get rid of these.
I would much rather just have this DVD with NO menus than crappy ones.
But now I cant even get rid of these!
very frustrating - and I have tried to copy the old PE4 DVD Menu templates into the Version 10 - and while the label is there - there is no actual way to bring up the template

I would definitely recommend you get your operating system and software up to date before we try anything else, CoolStuff.

I'm not sure what you mean by "undo these menus". Do you want to have a no-menu DVD? You can do that by selecting the Auto Start option in the Disc Layout workspace.

Have you got our Muvipix Guide, by the way? It shows you how to do most of these things, including how to customize a disc template with your own photo as background.

Two tutorials on how to install DVD templates

To remove the existing menu you will need to choose, "Auto Play DVD".

Yes i purchased the book.
Thanks for the info.....
NOW i am unable to even log in to PE10
The only window that comes up is Make sure to get the latest Inspiration Browser
i have NEVER had this happen.
Of course now it happens since I was forced into creating an adobe ID.
I simply want a program u can use without having to do updates or fill out a bunch of needless info.
Looks like i am out of luck.
So....
Anyone know how to bypass this inspidation browser crap?
Ok...i went to task manaher and closed it out.
Looks like when i restart it brings up the welcome menu....
But i had to log in again to bring up the project i was working on.
Taking forever to load.....
No doubt because it has all these new updates that i could not do without.
it is three minutes and the project is still not loaded
Frustrating

Chuck - IT WORKED!!!
I was able to download your movie and your disc template onto my new laptop. I then put the disc template onto a flash drive and transferred the menu over to my work computer (the one that I refuse to get out there in the great world wide web!)
I created the file folders as you suggested in your tutorial and voila - magic!
It worked and I have a WAY cool background image of a triple carb setup.
Love it.
Thanks for putting up with my inability to know what is going on....
