Thanks for doing all that work, do you have any idea what I might try next?

It doesn't sound like the you need to do anything.

Your output files are just as good as your input. As Bob's tests seem to indicate, it's the media players that are providing less than perfect quality playback.

Hmmm, how to get my media players to work properly then? Does it mean it's an issue with my computer, or would people with regular computers see my video's with the same reduced contrast? I seem to remember reading that VLC was somehow independent of codecs, is this the case? Anyway, it's good to know that PRE is working properly.

One thing you can't do is predict what something will look like from one computer to the next.
Differences in video/graphics cards and monitors make that almost impossible.
You can get it to look as good as possible over a broad spectrum of equipment.
Can you try posting something to YouTube that we can all take a look at and give feedback?
My guess is that it looks worse to you than most people.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

There's really no way to control the way it looks on other people's computers -- unless you can convince all of your friends to use the same video player. And, at least in my case, my friends aren't even using the same operating systems!

So you've just got to use your best possible output (as I recommended earlier in this thread) and trust that it's the best you can do.
