Timeline: in hr.mm.ss or in frames

Postby AllieB » Wed Nov 16, 2011 6:10 am

Hi all,

Since I removed the not used video- and audiotracks from my project the timeline shows the number of frames in stead of the actual time. As I work with Pal the actual time shows per example 250, which thus means 00:10:00:00. See the attached jpg.

I am sure I did this by myself but I can't recollect how. I prefer the indication as time rather than in frames. I tried a new project and there the program shows as usal the time so I cioncluded that it has to do with my settings for this project but not from scratch on but later as I changed something else.

Is there somebody who knows how to change back?

Thanks for reading,

AllieB

If it's in the same place as PrEl 9, this should do it:

Edit>Project Settings>General>Display Format

Thanks Dave, it's indeed in the same place.
I didn't see this before but do you have a clue why this happened? Perhaps a shortcut?

Anyway it is solved. Thank you.

No shortcuts for that particular setting that I can find. Sorry, I can't explain it.

You were holding down the CTRL key and clicked on the time field, below the preview window, that shows the frame or hr.mm.ss.ff of where the CTI is on the ruler. Some blue underlined fields in the Project > Media panel also toggle between the two formats when you click on them with the CTRL key held down.

Sorry, I didn't read the latest two replies from November, as Dave's reply solved the issue for me.

Today I had the same problem and now I saw the reply of RJJohnston which makes me clear what really happened.

Thanks a lot once more,
