Grouping a segment of the timeline in MS Platinum 13.0

Postby jonnyD » Thu Oct 09, 2014 11:18 am

I made a short video. After viewing it several times I decided I wanted to add more video footage. From a point in the middle of the timeline, I wanted to move everything to the right. I tried grouping all the tracks by pressing CONTROL and then clicking on the pieces I wanted to group together. Besides the fact that there were sundry small pieces of video and audio, I found it impossible to click on everything I wanted to group together. Is there an easy way to group a segment of the timeline that includes all tracks?

From the MSP 13 online Help (F1): The Selection tool is designed to select multiple events across tracks by drawing selection boxes around the events you want to include.
It is in the Edit > Editing Tool menu.

The way I usually do it is hit the D key until your mouse cursor appears with a marquee box next to it (selection tool), then click/drag to draw a box around the clips you want to group, then hit the G key to group them. To ungroup them, do the same and hit the U key to ungroup.
