..to speed up/slow down a transition between clips?

In Vegas/Movie Studio, the length of a transition is indicated by how much one clip overlaps another. To lengthen or shorten a transition, increase or decrease the amount of overlap.
The longer a transition is, the slower it will transition.
The longer a transition is, the slower it will transition.
