Pixelcast

Postby BobH » Mon Nov 25, 2013 12:50 pm

Hi all,
When in MS12, I can't upload a video to Pixelcast using share online. It goes through the process but then says it cannot connect to the site. I have had to render the file to my computer, go to the Pixelcast website and upload from there. Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

Regards

You may need to contact Sony on that one, Bob. Pixelcast is their project.

They may need you to help troubleshoot their upload system and your connection to it.

FWIW, Pixelcast works just fine for me with shorter project.

Could the length of your project be affecting your upload? How long is your video? There may be a file size limitation.

Hi Steve, The project is about 8 minutes rendered at low quality and so is about 80MB. It is my first upload and I believe I have 500MB in total to use. I can render to my computer and upload so I guess it is not a serious issue. One further point I noticed. It did render to C:/users/myname/ApData,Local,Sony,12.0. I think that is right. I notice it contains loads of .ini, .txt and other files with a couple of folders. Is this all rubbish I can delete?

Yes, I would expect that those are just work files and do not affect the video itself.

Meantime, try loading a shorter file -- maybe 30 seconds -- directly to Pixelcast, just as an experiment. It should work pretty seamlessly.

There is a reason Appdata is hidden by default. The Appdata folder is where applications may store configuration and other types of data that should not be deleted. It's not just temporary data. I'd be very careful about what I deleted from there.

There should be a way to specify where to place the rendered file.

Thanks for the replies. In the folder I have loads of .bin files which are VLC media files. Also loads of NewBlue .log files that seem to be text files. Also loads of sony .log files, again text files. IThese should be OK to delete I think. I'll delete a few to see the effect if any as I can always restore them if this creates a problem.
