VMS11 Parent and Composite issue

Postby fatbloke » Wed Dec 05, 2012 9:47 am

Hi, can anyone advise please?

I'm working through Steve's 'Guide to VMS HD Platinum11' book and on Page 116 use is made of a Generated Media clip of a white circle with a transparent background. It can't seem to find this as an option. Do I have to create the mask and if so, how?

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

Regards,
Simon

You can create it using a program like Photoshop Elements, Simon. But it's not terribly hard to create it with the Media Generators right in Movie Studio.

1) Drag the Color Gradient Media Generator/Elliptical White to Black preset to your timeline.
2) In the Video Media Generators panel that opens, click on the #2 Control Point in the box on the left side of the panel and then move the Color transparency slider down to make the black background transparent.
3) Click on the #1 Control Point and drag it out from the center to set the feathering and size for the white dot.

If you'd like, you can drag the crosshair in the Control Point window to position the center of the white dot in your video frame.

Does that help?
