PE9 Blu Ray export format

Postby Avsfan » Fri Jul 08, 2011 10:17 pm

I have just completed my 1st HD project with PE9 and want to export this to burn to Blu Ray using Sony's DVD Architect Studio 5. when exporting/saving to folder from PE9, what format or presets should I use to get the best quality export for use with Blu Ray? thanks

Go to Share/Computer/MPEG and choose the preset for a 1920x1080 30 (NTSC) or 25 (PAL).

Steve, according to a number of statements in your book and in my own experience with the software, it is MPEG H.264 1920x1080i 30 files that DVD AS5 recognizes as "native" for HD projects, in other words, for the purpose of burning a Blu-ray disc, which is what Avsfan wishes to do.

The preset that you mention is the one that is recommended for standard definition, if memory serves.

Yes, the H.264 option might be the preferred. Good point, George. It depends on how you have your project set up in DVD Architect Studio. (Under the File menu in DVD AS choose Properties. On the Properties option screen, you will be able to set up your BluRay disc as either an MPEG or AVC.)

Although either should work. They'll both produce BluRay discs.
