I moved an entire timeline to a new project setting?

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 9.

I moved an entire timeline to a new project setting?

I moved an entire timeline from PE 4 to a new project setting in PE 9.

Is that supposed to be possible?

Sort of.

Theoretically it's possible (depending on how you did it).

But in my experience, it nearly always leads to oddball behavior (like audio that doesn't play right, effects that suddenly don't work, etc.).

So if it works for you, it works. But don't be surprised if it doesn't either.

Yes, it had oddball behavior. But it's easier to deal with than reconstructing the entire lesson. I removed the cropping, for instance, and suddenly all the avi files were ready for widescreen. It exported great!

All the info I've gotten from this site led me to wonder if I could move the timeline in such a way as to get around some very bad problems. I'm oh so happy.

I want to try something similar with PE7 or 8. I've finding useful stuff. Is there a way to get my hands on one of those versions? I already purchased versions 4 and 9.

It's possible you can find older versions of Amazon.com.

You may also be able to find some used versions on eBay. Just make sure you're getting a fully-licensed version (as most of them on that site are) and not a bootleg.
