Large Cache folder

During my recent tests the folder
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files
has accumulated to a size of some 16 GB! and some 700 entries!
Whereas folder ...\Media Cache is only 434 KB !

Other software which I also use occasionally have a considerably lower disk space consumption
in folder C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming:
e.g.
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\Cyberlink is only 310 MB
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX is only 19 MB
C:\Users\Peter\AppData\Roaming\Nero is only 9 MB

Is that normal?
How to control the size of PrE9's Media Cache Files cache?
Is it safe to delete its content and make a fresh start?

Good question. I have the same problem. Loads of cache files in that folder.

If you go to Premiere Elements Edit menu and select Preferences, you'll find a page from which you can clear the Media Cache -- just in case you seem to be accumulating a lot of junk there.
