Additionally, the brightly-colored Organize, Edit, Disc Menu and Share tabs have been replaced with cool, black tabs so that the program looks more like its professional, big brother programs in the Creative Suite.

Yes, much better on the eyes, I must agree -- and very "zippy," too, not to mention just as stable as version 7 (so far).

For some reason Adobe seems to have sucess in odd numbered releases (3,5,7,9) and not so good in the even numbered releases.

Versions 3, 7, and 9 work because they were created to fix the problems in 2, 4, and 8 :)
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Actually, I remember version 2 to be quite stable.

Version 3 was initially a dog. This is the version where they added the sceneline and it caused a huge performance problem when using track 1. The workaround was to not use track 1.
Also remember if you had saved presets, then you had a problem with loading that an error would pop up and you had to hold down the enter key for the hundreds of meddssages to clear. The workaroud if I remember was to always exit when the preset screen was open.

Lots of folks were complaining about track matte and tons of other stuff.

They came up with a patch, and I think it was the 1st release to do so, that fixed most of the problems. They could never really solve the performance problem but the other problems were fixed. It eventually became a very nice release.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who found V2 to be pretty solid. I did a lot of editing with that version.
