I will wait before I upgrade

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 9.

I will wait before I upgrade

Postby Svein Berger » Tue Sep 21, 2010 11:49 am

I burned my fingers on PE8. Never used it, and will never do. I will not spend more $$ on products that's not working.
I will wait to see what other users think about the product before I buy.

You could wait, or test it yourself for free:

Version 9 tryouts are now avaliable for download from Adobe (large PSE9 1.78 gb & PRE9 1.19 gb), I too am going to wait. Have version 8, but never use it. Still using Version 7.

Thank for the replies.
I will wait to try PE9 until I have finished my project in PE7.

Maybe Steve has some comments about the stability, and performance of PE9, compared to PE7.

In terms of stability and performance, it's much closer to version 7 than version 8 -- so it's really an improvement all around.

Particularly if you use AVCHD or other video from sources other than tape, it's a very good upgrade.

I also like that the new version comes in Mac as well as PC flavors. I've been using transitioning my video work over to my iMac, and I like it a lot on OSX (although the PC version performs well also).

Thanks Steve. This really sounds promising. My next compute will be an iMac.
How is PRE9 on OSX compared with Final Cut Express?

Well, it's definitely more user friendly than Final Cut Express (which works almost exactly like Final Cut Pro). But Final Cut Express still has the edge in terms of professional features.
