Premier elements 10How does the new upgrade interface with Premier 9? I'm in the middle of a project, will the up grade interfere in anyway? What's the download and install process? Thanks.
Re: Premier elements 10You can install multiple versions of Premiere Elements on one computer. They don't interfere with each other. Only run one at a time though. It's pretty well accepted by everyone here that you don't want to open an older version project in a newer version, or if you're adventurous and decide to try it, make sure that you've made backups of your project first. Once you've done that you can't open them again in the previous version. The rule is, finish any projects that you have going in the version they were created in; use the new version to start new projects.
Download and install as a new, separate program. If you're installing as an upgrade you'll have to provide some kind of proof of ownership of a previous version, probably a registration code, or perhaps it will just recognize that a registered previous version is installed. Maybe someone who's already done that will chime in. It won't affect V9. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Premier elements 10Once you have 10 installed you can open your project in 9 and choose "Save As" to save it under another name such as For version 10. Then open that file in 10 and continue to edit it. The original will still be available to use in 9 if 10 messes it up.
Re: Premier elements 10I think that all of us at Muvipix will highly recommend finishing a project in the version it was started in.
But, if you decide to try and finish editing in a newer version please be sure to follow Ron's advice above and make a copy first. That way you can always open the copy in your older version if things don't work out. Once you open a project in a newer version you can never open that project file in the older version again, that's why you need to make the copy first 1. Re: Premier elements 10Just to add to the good advice ..
I have several projects that continue through the years. As a result I've moved 4 of them from V2 to V7 to Pro. I had one that would not open in V7. The rest have all moved from V2 to Pro with pieces added in each version along the way with NO problems whatsoever. But as they say "you mileage may vary."
