I don't use the 64 bit version of IE but I fired it up to check this out. I played around with V9 for about 15 minutes, cutting, pasting, adding, deleting, adding transitions and effects, etc. Nothing I did resulted in anything like the problems you're experiencing.

Dave,
thanks!

Strange i have this phenomenae

Perhaps it is a combination of my system / IE 8 (64) and PRE 9

I do hope some test this also.
the effect is instantly, not after 15 minutes or so.

Editted:
It has nothing to do with the fact or IE8 is 64 bit or not.
the issue shows up after using IE8 32bit or 64 bit.
when closing the internet the phenomenae does not gone.
also closing PRE 9 and reopening , the phenomenae is there.
Only rebooting helps.
For now it looks, i can't use IE 8, without introducing a issue in PRE 9.
So , you can say, there are lots other browsers.
indeed , i nthe past i have used Google chrome.
But , i have some prgrs who co-operate wiht IE8;, like Snagit, and Nuance pdf converter 7 and others.
So, i haven't examined or other browser wokr also together with all my prgs.
So, for now i like IE8.
I go further examining why those two prgs bite each other, or a more easy solution.

Editted 2:
Perhaps it is still Zonealarm.
Zonealarm works together wiht IE8.
what i did:
Shutting down Zonealarm.
Closing PRe 9.
openened Taskamanger ( process-explorer)
Killing explorer, and then run Explorer.
The system has to re-load the registry.
Starting IE8
starting PRe 9 and load a project.
Now it playes without issues. the IE 8 is still open, but Zonealarm is still shutting down.

I go searching furhter, but all points to zonealarm, for now

Addum:
when it plays smooth without phenomenaes , i did start IEE 8.
No problem o far.
the nstarting up zonealarm and go further with playing and using the mouse.
I got my stripes and black holew again.
so all points to ZoneAlarm.
Is it the ForceField which is relative new , wich is cause of the problem ?
Should i send this whole thread to ZoneAlarm ?

Frits
just updated Zonealarm from ZASPSetup_93_014_000_en to 93_037_000_en
did this help ?
NO!

Addum 2:
iit is definitily Zonealarm.
It is not always necessary to follow procedure above.
Shutting down ZoneAlarm does often help, while PRE 9 runs en IE 8 is open.

so this is the end !
I think i make a pdf file from this thread and send it to ZoneAlarm customerservice.

Glad you were able to determine what was causing the problem Frits.
