Adobe Photoshop Elements 4

Postby desmo11225 » Sun Dec 17, 2017 10:17 am

Hello Every one A Very Merry Christmas to All And Best wishes for Year 2018.
I had'nt expected to pester you all with problems again , especially being 92 years old a week or so ago, anyhow , some one over loaded my computer and it wiped out every thing , I have more or less got it all back now exept my Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 , when I try to access it a box tells me that DirectX is not initialised and to install it but I have version 12 of DirectX installed , I have tried all sorts but so far with no success , I know my Photoshop is old but I really do not want to upgrade now at quite a bit of cost and I really only want to enhance a few photo's now and again from my pretty extensive library.I do have my photo's saved on my external hard drive, so they are not lost , whats up with this DirectX????? All the Best desmo11225

You probably need an older version of DirectX.
I'll research this and find out what version.

Happy Birthday Desmo !! You might get the Muvipix award for the oldest member :)

Yes, you really need an older version of DirectX like Peru says above. Problem with that is I believe other programs could start having issues if you switch to an older version. I highly recommend an upgrade to at least version 10 but probably 12. When version 4 was designed I don't think they took into consideration that DirectX would be beyond version 10 at some point so it doesn't recognize version 12 as a "Current" version. At some point we all have to upgrade.... :(
