OK .. I'm barely getting started with AE, so bear with me. In one of the Lynda tutorials, they show how to browse the Presets in Bridge. I can get the folders up and open them .. but when I click on any of the Presets from within the Text folder, nothing happens. It appears in the tutorial that as you click on them, they preview in the Preview panel in Bridge. I've found ONE preset that actually previews. When I click on other ones (from various folders chosen from within the Text folder) .. nothing happens. I can see it displayed in the Preview panel, but no motion. What am I missing?

Activate the Presets Tab. Right click on the right side of the tab, the arrow, and choose Browse Presets from the context menu. Bridge will open to the presets folders. From there go to the Text presets and preview the animations. Another little FYI is when you apply an effect and you want to see the presets in the FX panel, you have to have the Presets Tab panel forward. At least in CS4. If not, then the presets drop down list doesn't show up in the FX panel. One of my roadblocks.

I'd love to .. except they DON'T preview when I click on them!

Ahhh. Well that is odd. In the preview window in Bridge, is there a play button under that window?

Not having a clue what I was doing, I found in Bridge .. Tools->Cache->Purge cache for (name of folder). As I do that for each preset folder, the presets have begun to animate. I love it when I figure it out myself .. even if I don't have a clue what I'm doing.
