Rendering

Couldn't figure out where to put this so I'll put it here.

Always been curious about this ... pardon my ignorance.

Say you have a small project. If you export it to avi or whatever, it says it is RENDERING. Does this mean you don't have to render the timeline BEFORE you do this, or is the quality improved if you first render the timeline and THEN export it?

You don't need to render "before" you export, briefly, it just makes for improved previewing (on some systems). And no, quality isn't improved one way or the other.

Rendering the timeline can also be a way of finding errors in your project. If the Timeline won't render then the project probably won't burn either. But Ron is correct, rendering the timeline is not required and the project will be rendered and converted during the burning process whether you render the timeline or not.
