About HDV-split

Postby thhult » Mon Sep 06, 2010 9:10 am

Hi,
I have used HDV-split for a year without problems. But now something strange happened. When I press record button I get following message after 4 sec:
"Capturing has been started
INFO: No more data is received from camcoder. Capture stopped.
End of capturing"
I have no problem to preview the movie without record and I have no problem to capture in Premier El or Pro (but without split).

Does anyone have an explanation.

Regards
Thomas

I always get that message at the beginning of a tape. If there are a few seconds of nothing at the beginning of the tape the program doesn't sense anything to record. If it goes for over 3 seconds with no timecode it will just quit and give that message. I just press the record button again and then it will be fine. If the beginning is blank for more than 10 seconds you might be better off to just play the tape until you find the spot where the footage actually starts and start the capture from there.

I have noticed this too. It would be nice if there was a way to specify how long it should wait. On the other hand, the program looks totally unsupported now so wishing ain't gonna help much.

Not too much off topic...

I have to make sure that I close HDVSplit before I turn off or disconnect the camera or it will lock up. Then the only way I can close it is with Task Manager.

But otherwise it works great.

I actually get that once in awhile while in the middle of capturing a scene. Seems like if I close it down, then capture something else, then go back to that piece it will work.
