NewBlue Stabilizer not working with PE8

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 8.

NewBlue Stabilizer not working with PE8

Postby TreeTopsRanch » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:41 pm

Has anyone had any luck with the NewBlue stabilizer plugin for PE 8.01? It crashes PE 8.01. I have sent a tech email to the NewBlue people but no resolution yet.

Have you successfully added the effect to a clip, or does it crash before you add the effect to a clip? The latter was my problem. If you have the same problem, first click in a blank area of the effects panel so the icon for the stabilzer effect turns gray. Then click on the icon and immediately drag it down and around the preview monitor to the clip on the timeline. Don't pause after clicking the icon and don't drag the icon across the preview monitor. Practice makes perfect.

PE crashed before I could add the effect to a clip.

Wow, thanks for the quick response, your fix worked.

Glad to hear you made it to the clip on the timeline. :dr:

May I add that the NewBlue stabilizer seems to do a much better job of stabilizing than PE8. I tested it on a Flip ultra HD camera clip and it did a super job. However, having said that I think the price of that addin is somewhat steep.

The price may seem steep but it's actually a pretty good price. Your other choice is Mercalli Expert from Prodad which goes for $125. SteadyMove for Premiere Pro was $400 not too long ago and it wasn't nearly as good or as fast.

And now it doesn't work with the later versions of Premiere Pro, only works with AE.
