Disc Menu Not Saved

Postby DocB1973 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 2:26 pm

Muvipix - I am new to this site but am impressed with the knowledge of the products. My problem is that I choose a disc menu, saved the project, then closed the app. When I open the project again in PE8 disc menu I choose is not there and I have to start all over again. Any thougths?

Thanks,
Doc

Welcome to Muvipix, Doc!

Can you be a little more specific about the steps you're taking and what you're seeing?

When you go to Disc Menus and select a template, do you then click Apply? Does the template then show up in the Disc Layout window?

If you save your project, close it and open it again -- and then go to the Disc Menus panel -- is the template you applied still there?

Steve,

Sorry about that. I chose a DVD template and it shows up in the monitor window as it should. I make my revisions then click apply. I then click on the file menu and the save command. I close the program and when I open it back up and go to Disc Menus there is nothing in the monitor window. I have to drag the template into the window again, update titles, etc then burn the DVD. Even after burning the DVD it does not save the DVD template. Everything else about the program, except DV-video import from a DV camera, work fine. I really appreciate your help.

I don't know why this would happen, Doc!

Can you post a screen capture of your Disc Menus workspace with your menu template applied? It might help us see what's going on.

And I saw you asked for a screenshot...this is what mine looks like after I try to apply and drag and drop menu into project. Nothing seems to happen. On occassion it flickers but still no menus and it has crashed a couple of times when I tried to drag and drop. I also included the Project settings window.

Welcome to Muvipix, GaLady!

We're still waiting for the original poster to post a screen shot of his program so we can see what's going on.

But if you can provide a picture of your Disc Menus screen with a menu applied to it and more details of what you're doing and what's not happening, we might be able to solve both your problems.

:meet:

I had a problem with Pre El 3.0.2 not saving the font size and text location properly. I was never able to find a solution.

I resolved the problem by using DVD Architect Studio to create the menus. I'm glad that I did so, as it does a much better job and has more flexibility. There are also great tutorials for it on Muvipix, and Steve's book on DVDAS is one of the best "manuals" I've used.

Thanks, Bob!

BTW, my new book on DVD Architect Studio 5 is due to be released at the end of this month. Version 5 adds BluRay support -- and still only $39 if you download it from the site. It's truly one of the great values in video editing!
