Kodak Zx1 video and PE8I just got PE8 and would like to know how easy it would be to work with video from a Kodak Zx1 pocket HD camcorder?
Re: Kodak Zx1 video and PE8Hi, babya! Welcome to Muvipix!
As a general rule, pocket HD cameras, like your Kodak Zx1 or the Flip, don't work well with more major video editors. They certainly seem to give Premiere Elements a headache! So I sure wouldn't recommend using one to shoot your video is you plan to edit it in Premiere Elements 8. On the other hand, most of these cams come with basic video editing software -- and that could make for a workable alternative, if you plan is just to shoot, do some basic editing and post to, say, YouTube. (There are workflows to make the video editable in Premiere Elements -- but most involve some sort of conversion first. And some (not many but some) people are able to work with non-standard video, such as video from these pocket cams. But, as a rule of thumb, I wouldn't recommend it investing in one of those cameras and Premiere Elements without giving it a test drive on my system.) Re: Kodak Zx1 video and PE8Thanks, Steve for the info.
The Zx1 captures video in QuickTime (.mov) format. I''ll try and see what happens when I import with video from the Zx1 into PE8 and report baxj.
