Premiere Elements 8.0 video preset for AVCHD 1280x720pHow do you set the video presets for AVCHD 1280x720p? Premiere elements only supports 1280x720p with HDV presets. AVCHD presets only support 1080i.

The best thing to do is convert the video to High Def MPEG and then use the HDV 720p preset. There may be other suggestions so be sure to check back later 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

You should be able to use the HDV 720p preset. You'll only need to convert the avchd clip to hdv if you have problems processing the original clip. That could happen. There is a lot of variation on how AVCHD Lite is implemented by the various camcorder manufacturers -- the spec leaves room for interpretation.

I don't create High Definition DVDs. I just used the nomal SD mode, 720x480. It gets scaled to the project size when rendering.

I do want to add that PRE8 no longer works on my system, so I could not play around with it much,
