How to import MPEG2 files in PE8?

Postby 445 » Sun Nov 22, 2009 2:48 pm

I have installed my Premiere Elements 8 today.
Have spent several hours trying to "get media" from my mini DvDs, recorded on a Canon DVD Camcorder PAL DC21.

First I get this message:
ScreenShot034.jpg

I click OK.
Then I get this message:
ScreenShot035.jpg

The link brings me to this empty page:
ScreenShot036.jpg

Any ideas what to do?

Hi 445, Welcome to Muvipix :meet:

My guess is that the activation page is Flash based.
Make sure you have the most current version of flash player installed.
You have to activate the mpeg component before you can use mpeg files.

Had to replace com with *** because I am a new user.

Everyone with Premiere Elements has had to visit that page since version 4.
Might want to call Adobe and see what they say about it, I've never heard of this happening before.

Make sure you don't have a popup blocker or anything like that turned on for that page.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Try EXPORTING an MPEG first. (Doesn't matter what you use as source files.) This too, I believe, should trigger an automatic activation of the codec.
