PRE8 is crashing

PRE8 is crashing

Postby Svein Berger » Mon Sep 28, 2009 3:14 pm

Yes, this time I have upgraded all drivers I know of. Video, sound and QuickTime, plus all updates from Windows.

When I trying to make a Disc menu It crashed the first time I double-clicked on a template to preview. I Got a crash report, and did send it.
Lauched Pre8 again, went to the Disc Menus again double-click on several previews. Everything seems OK. Click the Edit tab, and bang I am back to desktop.
Lauched Pre8 again, same story. ](*,)

I have a small problem on my PC. The Windows update insist on updating Microsoft XML Core Service 4.0 Service Pack 2 (KB954430), 11 times so far. :pull:
If anyone has a tip to help me here I'm grateful.

This must be very frustrating, Svein!

If you haven't contacted Adobe or Adobe Tech Support, I highly recommend you do. Between this forum and the Adobe forum, I'm seeing so many complaints of instability I can hardly find the time to answer them all!

But, if enough people contact Adobe, maybe we can convince them that these problems need to be addressed at their end.

Steve, I will go through the "Troubleshoot system errors and freezes in Premiere Elements 8 (Windows)" first. I see in item 6 that FireWire is a possible problem. I do have an external disc connected to my computer, using FireWire (it can use USB too). I will test this. (I'm not at my home computer right now).

Well the program i still crashing. I will not use Pre 8 before Adobe comes with a fix. Hopefully they will do it. If not then I spent a lot of money for nothing.

Pre 7 is rock solid comapre to Pre 8.
