matching slideshow stills to audio clip

Postby AVITRY » Sun Mar 06, 2011 7:53 pm

Hi all. I'm looking in PE3 how to automatically have the slideshow end when the music audio track ends. My slideshow is longer, and I know I can manually play with duration, but how or where is the setting to automatically set them. I can't find it.

thanks,
joe

There is a setting in Photoshop Elements that will set the slideshow to end with the music, but not Premiere Elements. It's all pretty much manually done Joe.

Here's an old trick that may work for you, Joe.

Use File/Export/Movie (or Share/Computer/AVI in newer versions of the program) to output a DV-AVI of our slideshow.

Open a new DV project and bring in the slideshow AVI. Place your AVI on Video 1 and music on the soundtrack.

Right-click on the AVI on your timeline and select Time Stretch. Speed up or slow down your slideshow until it's the same length as your music.

You know, I had completely forgotten about that trick Steve :)
That was a very common answer/solution back in version 2 and 3, how could I forget :-k
It would still be a reasonable solution today, glad you figured it out Joe :TU:

That is the chief reason that I begin all my slide shows in PSE7 before a Send to PRE7.

The second most important reason is that PSE makes it so very easy to apply a pan and zoom to all the slides.

After a number of years of using the programs, I'm still amazed by Adobe's ability to make the PRE/PSE7 bundle work so well together.
