Can't Add Photos...

Postby boosaman » Mon Feb 22, 2010 1:19 am

I am working on a lengthy slide show. All of the sudden I can't add photos. I go to the Get Media menu, click on the file I need, but nothing shows on the organizer.

Any thoughts? Help!

Any error messages? Does it show in the Edit pane but not in the organizer?

Instead of using the Organize panel to locate your files, try going to Organize/Get Media and select the From Files and Folders option. You should be able to browse to any file on your computer.

I tried doing exactly this, but after highlighting the file I want, nothing comes up in the available media list. Strangely, when I highlight more than one file, sometimes only a few of them appear on the media list.

It's very strange, and I frustrated to no end in trying to add the pictures to the project (this after wasting two hours because I had the viewer on magnification 200%, and not realizing it, and wondering why everything was overzoomed).

I suppose there is the possibility that you've maxed out the Project media panel!

Have you tried creating a folder in your Project media panel and dragging all of the folders that are now in the panel into it. (It won't have any effect on those already on your timeline.)

That should free up room in the Project media panel list view.

Steve,

This may indeed be the problem. I have a huge number of photos in there; I didn't know there was a limit. How do I create a folder and move everything out of the media panel?

Thanks.

To create a folder, you click on the Folder icon in the lower left of the Project media panel.

Then you just drag your photos or clips into it.

Lots of great tips like that in my books, Jack. Well worth checking out! ;)
